Ahh! the outdoors. Today Cassidy and I went on a short hike in Modjeska Canyon past the Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary. We probably only did 1/2 to 3/4 mi because it was very steep and those little legs con only go so far but we had a good time. It was a very overcast day and a little drizzly which kept us cool and made for some beautiful views of the surrounding foothills.
After our hike, we looked around the visitor's center for the Tucker Wildlife sanctuary and then toured their garden. We saw a number of birds including a woodpecker, pheasants, and blue jays. We also heard an owl but he was not coming out in to view. They had a pond with turtles and fish and even an area with a California desert tortoise. Cassidy especially liked the turtles and the tortoise. After a few hours of hiking and exploring we decided to head home after a fun outing.
