Snow Day

I haven't blogged in a while but today was a day worth blogging about. This morning I woke up and looked outside to see a blanket of snow covering everything. I checked the school website expecting a closure and found none so I started getting Cassidy ready and Terri took over and walked her to the school bus. When Terri got back she told me there were only 4 kids at the bus but Cassidy was off to school.

About 20 minutes later... Terri hollers from the living room "Will, the school is closed!"

So I get on the phone with the school and they say... "Can you come get her?"

Thank goodness Diane has a Subaru and took the bus to work. A quick call to clear using her car with Diane and I'm on my way to pick up Cassidy.

There were a few cars stuck by the main intersection on my way and 4 cars plus 2 buses on the way up the final hill to her school but I rolled past all of them and on to the school.

When I picked up Cassidy they administrators informed me that there was another parent from my apartment complex walking the 1.4 miles up the hill to pick up her son and walk back. I decided we would stop to give her a ride. I ended up giving rides to 2 women and their kids then got back to work at home while Terri and Cassidy went out to play in the snow and Anna slept.

On my lunch I was off again... This time to rescue Diane from a stuck bus by the freeway. After an uneventful ride I dropped off a couple of Diane's "bus friends" and we headed home for some sandwiches and hot soup.
